Firefly Pt 4: Semi retirement-BBQ at Capt Jalil's
STAFFIELD COUNTRY HOMES - BBQ
My semi-retirement party was held on the 13th Dec 08 at Staffield Country Club in Mantin. Organised by Capt Jalil, Lynette, Saiful, Muzzafar and gang.
We also took the opportunity to wish Lynette a belated birthday.
Jalil's beautiful country home located in the middle of the Golf course.

Firefly Pt 3: Evacuation Demo for 1st on type - 16th Aug 2008.
An evacuation demo the ATR 72-500 was required by DCA, was conducted on the 16 Aug 2008.
Participants prior to the demo. Aircraft was positoned in front of Hanger 1.
Pre-evacuation.
1st run.
Gladys Ong, our senior Stewardess, was one of the last to leave with the Emergency equipment.
After the first round of Evacuation, its all smiles from Meng, Yusri, & Jalil
Our Cabin Crew performed very well.
Hey Neil, you are much too big or is it that the 'hatch' itself is too narrow.

Firefly Pt 2: 1st ATR, Ferry & Arrival Subang. 11th Aug 2008
9M-FYA Firefly's first ATR Delivery and Ferry
Aircraft taxiing out for Departure Toulouse. Crew were - Capts Jalil Md Dom, Fauzi AB and Capt Norhalim (DCA) and F/O Najib. Enroute layover stops were Pahpos in Cyprus, Muscat, Chennai to Subang. Subsequent deliveries from FYC onwards were via Abu Dhabi instead of Muscat)
20 ft to a perfect touchdown Subang, on the 11th Aug 2008 at 1709 hrs.

Firefly Pt 1: ATR P.A signing 24th Oct 2007
MAS signed a P.A with ATR for the acquistion of 10 ATR aircraft + 10 Options, for Fire Fly, on the 24th Oct 2007.
This was been my 23rd involment in helping finalise an Agreement for airlines (MAS, Jet Airways, Go Air)
Below:When two legal brains show some interest, something is up. Rohaila (who finished worked at 2 am) and Francios (ATR).
Our MD, Eddy Leong, trying to convince his boss, MAS M.D Dato Idris Jalal, that we have left some margin for the 72-600.
FireFly - LCC subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines is my 5th Airline after MAS, Jet Airways, Magic Airlines (India) and Go Air(India).

Yes, this will be my last assignment.
I Joined the airline on 15th Aug 2007 as Head of Flight Training ( Jan 2008, redisgnated as Head of Flight Operations) and in charge of the Malaysian ATR Training Centre that MAS intended to start. It is a difficult mountain but probably would be the one to remember in my latter years.
Currently we are finalising the Purchase Agreement for 10+10 ATR 72-500's for Firefly and next week the ATR training team would be down.
Below is our Negotiating team, with Fook Meng taking this shot. From Left : Francios ( Contracts -ATR) , Rohaila ( MAS's Legal Manager), Eddy Leong (M.D -Firefly), & Christophe (the Sales & Marketing Director for ATR).
